Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for attempting to sell ganja in Illanthakunta mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district. Police seized the contraband, along with a bike and mobile phone, during the operation.
According to police, the accused, Sreekanth, had become addicted to narcotic substances and developed a habit of using ganja. He reportedly sourced the substance from an unidentified supplier in Karimnagar.

After consuming part of the stock himself, he attempted to sell the remaining quantity at higher prices. On Tuesday evening, he travelled by bike to the Jangareddypalle Kaman area with the intent to sell.
Based on credible intelligence, Illanthakunta police intercepted him at the location and took him into custody. They recovered ganja, his two-wheeler, and a mobile phone. Police filed a case and produced him before a magistrate. The court later remanded him to judicial custody, said Illanthakunta Sub-Inspector Sirisilla Ashok.
