HYDERABAD: YouTuber Shankar, operator of the News Line YouTube channel, has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by the court and subsequently transferred to Chanchalguda Jail.
A woman filed a complaint at the Amberpet Police Station, alleging that Shankar deceived her with promises of marriage and sexually assaulted her. She further claimed that when she insisted on marriage, Shankar threatened her and disseminated false information on social media to tarnish her reputation.
Acting on the complaint, Amberpet police apprehended Shankar at his residence. Investigations revealed that Shankar had prior cases against him. Authorities have registered charges under the Information Technology Act and other relevant sections before presenting him in court.
After reviewing the woman’s complaint, the court ordered a 14-day judicial remand for Shankar, leading to his transfer to Chanchalguda Jail.
