Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan called the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) first-quarter report a “red alert” for Telangana, alleging fiscal mismanagement by the Revanth Reddy-led government. In a post on X, he said the state’s borrowings in the first three months of the fiscal had exceeded state-owned revenues.
According to the figures cited, Telangana’s own revenue stood at 16.2% of the annual target, while non-tax revenue was 3.37%. Borrowings, however, had already reached 37.5% of the annual limit. Sravan described the numbers as a sign of “incompetency, poor governance, and administrative collapse,” blaming the chief minister and his cabinet for the situation.
🔥CAG’s Q1 report is a RED ALERT for Telangana!
🔥Telangana’s borrowings overshot state-owned revenues in Q1 of this fiscal

Telangana CAG report shows high borrowings, low revenue in Q1
Sravan said that instead of focusing on wealth creation, investment, and growth, the chief minister was “consumed by vengeful petty politics against KCR,” which he argued was dragging Telangana backwards. He noted that the CAG report was an official audit, not an opposition claim, and questioned how the government planned to bridge the fiscal deficit while meeting election promises.
He concluded that the state needed “economic vision, positive leadership, and tangible results” rather than political vendetta, warning that without course correction, the damage could become irreparable.
