The minister instructed officials to begin the works immediately and finish them without delay. In addition, he stressed that the project will reduce flooding and ease public hardship during monsoons.
The RCC box drain will stretch 2,720 meters and cover a catchment area of 175.13 hectares. As a result, it will channel water from FTCCI Marg, Red Hills, Devayya Bagh, Ek Minar Masjid Road, Netaji Nagar, and Nampally Station Road.
Key components of the project
The first section includes 2,150 meters of RCC box drain from New Pragati Press to Nampally Exhibition Grounds. Meanwhile, another 570 meters will run from Chirag Ali Lane to Bombay Bazaar through Nampally Station Road. Together, these two stretches will improve water flow across multiple low-lying areas.
