Uttam says Congress will make Jubilee Hills a model for welfare delivery

Hyderabad: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday said the Congress government is focused on delivering real welfare and inclusive growth in Jubilee Hills. He contrasted this with what he called a decade of neglect under the BRS.

14,230 new ration cards, 17,648 tonnes of rice distributed in two years

Speaking at Kolluru during a campaign meeting for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, Uttam said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration had issued 14,230 new ration cards in the constituency. These cards enabled 67,354 more residents to receive monthly ration benefits. “Today, 2.39 lakh people in Jubilee Hills get six kilograms of quality rice every month,” he said.

He criticised the BRS for failing to issue even one new ration card in ten years. “They gave only 13,880 metric tonnes of coarse rice in that time. In contrast, our government has already delivered 17,648 metric tonnes of fine rice in just two years,” he said. “That’s the difference between promises and performance.”

Uttam added that the Congress government was providing 200 units of free electricity to low- and middle-income families and ensuring all eligible homes in the constituency received the benefit.

Referring to the two-bedroom housing project in Kolluru, he said the government had sanctioned ten ration shops, with five already working. He promised the remaining five would start soon and assured that housing, water, and power works would be finished shortly.

‘Vote for delivery, not promises’

Calling the Congress government people-focused, Uttam said it stood for social justice and equal development. He described Naveen Yadav as a service-minded, educated BC leader who truly represents the people of Jubilee Hills.

He asked voters to support Congress in the November 11 by-election to keep up the pace of welfare and development. While the party will take on the BJP nationally, its immediate focus is delivering governance in Telangana, he said.

“We have taken note of all issues raised by residents,” Uttam said. “The Congress government will complete every pending work in Jubilee Hills and make it a model for welfare governance.”
