Earth Summit should drive agri startups, says Minister Tummala

Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday said the Earth Summit should act as a catalyst to drive agri startups and climate-resilient innovations aimed at strengthening rural India.

Speaking at the Hyderabad edition of the Earth Summit, organised by NABARD and the Internet and Mobile Association of India at Hitex, the minister emphasised the need for bold reforms and technology-driven ventures in agriculture. He stated that under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the government is actively promoting startup ecosystems and encouraging Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to pursue innovation-led models.

He underlined the importance of building climate-resilient strategies and called for better coordination among cooperatives and agricultural marketing systems. Acknowledging NABARD’s contribution, he described the organisation as the backbone of rural farming support and thanked it on behalf of the state government.

NABARD Chairman Shaji KV, Deputy Managing Director Goverdhan Singh Rawat, and DMD Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood also attended the event.
