Hyderabad: Hyderabad police acted with remarkable speed on Sunday, rescuing a senior High Court advocate kidnapped in Vanasthalipuram and arresting three suspects within hours of the crime.
According to police, the abduction stemmed from a land dispute in Kubdulapur. Investigators revealed that the suspects known to the advocate planned the abduction over a financial disagreement. When their demands for money went unmet, they forcibly kidnapped advocate Paladugu Narayana, a respected senior lawyer.
The ordeal began early on June 9, when a group of unidentified men arrived in a car at SNR Apartments in Saraswathinagar, Vanasthalipuram. Without warning, they forcibly bundled Narayana into their vehicle and sped off.
Shortly after, the abductors contacted Narayana’s wife, demanding a ransom of ₹1 crore for his safe release. Alarmed, she immediately lodged a complaint with the police, setting off a frantic search operation.
Special teams were quickly formed, working round the clock to trace the suspects. Using mobile location tracking and call records, the police zeroed in on the kidnappers’ hideout in Guntur. Acting swiftly, they apprehended all three suspects and brought them back to Vanasthalipuram for questioning.
Narayana was rescued unharmed, much to the relief of his family and the legal fraternity. Police sources confirmed that the advocate is safe and in good health.
Investigators are now probing deeper into the land dispute angle and the suspects’ financial motives, with further details expected to emerge in the coming days.
