Hyderabad: In preparation for the upcoming Milad-un-Nabi festival, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, along with MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and members of the Markazi Milad Juloos Committee, met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday to seek support and approvals for statewide religious observances.
The delegation presented multiple appeals, urging the government to facilitate smooth and respectful conduct of the annual Milad-un-Nabi processions scheduled for September 14 across Telangana.
Among the key demands made were:
Granting official permission for processions in various districts.
Free electricity supply to all mosques, dargahs, and religious institutions participating in the festival.
Permission for lighting and decoration of religious structures during the event.
Coordination between civic and law enforcement agencies to ensure peace, safety, and uninterrupted traffic during the religious activities.
The delegation stressed the cultural, spiritual, and communal importance of Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They noted the festival draws large public participation, with processions, speeches, and religious gatherings occurring statewide.
The Chief Minister reportedly responded positively, promising to consider all demands and issue necessary instructions to ensure a peaceful and well-coordinated celebration. Sources say the government is likely to issue formal guidelines within the next few days.
The meeting between AIMIM leaders and the Chief Minister highlights the party’s commitment to safeguarding religious rights and facilitating the smooth organization of traditional Muslim festivals.
