Amgen launched its New Technology and Innovation Site in Hyderabad, with a $200 million investment to boost AI-driven pharma research and job opportunities in Telangana.
HYDERABAD: American biotechnology giant Amgen has expanded its footprint in Hyderabad with the launch of its New Technology and Innovation Site, further strengthening Telangana’s position as a global biotech hub. The facility was inaugurated by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu at Amgen’s office near HITEC City.
The inauguration event saw the participation of Amgen Chairman & CEO Robert A. Bradway, US Consul General Jennifer Larson, Amgen India Representative Som Chattopadhyay, and Managing Director Naveen Gullapalli.
As part of its expansion strategy, Amgen has committed a $200 million (₹1,600 crores) investment by 2025. The company also aims to further increase its investments in the coming years, creating more employment opportunities in Telangana’s biopharmaceutical sector.

The new facility will focus on digital innovation, integrating AI and data science to enhance Amgen’s pharmaceutical research capabilities. The move is expected to drive advancements in drug discovery and development while reinforcing Hyderabad’s reputation as a preferred destination for biotech and life sciences investments.
