Hyderabad: Maharashtra IT and Cinematography Minister Ashish Shelar met Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday at the Secretariat. He invited Komatireddy to visit Maharashtra Film City to explore film industry collaboration between the two states.
The ministers discussed film policy, production incentives, and infrastructure improvements to support the film sector. Komatireddy outlined Telangana’s recent steps under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to support film workers and encourage production. These include subsidies, welfare schemes, and the development of locations like Rachakonda for film shoots.
Telangana aims to be a global film hub
Komatireddy noted that Ramoji Film City has become a go-to destination for both Bollywood and Hollywood. He said the state is pushing to position Telangana as a global production hub with world-class infrastructure and targeted incentives.
Shelar praised Telangana’s proactive approach and said he plans to study its policies for possible use in Maharashtra. He formally invited Komatireddy to visit Maharashtra Film City to discuss joint initiatives in content creation, talent exchange, and policy coordination.
