Bandi Sanjay questions Congress after Governor permits prosecution of KTR in Formula E case

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay criticised the government after the Governor permitted the prosecution of KTR in the Formula E-Car Race case. He asked how the Congress would defend its earlier claims now that the file received approval from Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. Moreover, he said the ruling party attempted to avoid accountability until this decision forced the issue into public view.

Bandi Sanjay recalled Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s past allegations that the BRS and BJP worked together. He questioned how the Chief Minister would justify those statements after the Governor allowed prosecution. Additionally, he noted that Revanth Reddy had repeatedly urged action against corruption and vowed to seize the properties of those involved in irregularities.

Prosecution of KTR prompts sharp criticism from Bandi Sanjay

The prosecution of KTR drew strong reaction from Bandi Sanjay, who said the Chief Minister must now act according to his earlier promises. He remarked that the government had previously tried to delay permission for prosecution and asked whether the Congress would continue to defend KTR in the face of new developments. Furthermore, he said the public expected the Chief Minister to uphold his own statements regarding corruption.

He also targeted what he described as “urban Naxal influences,” accusing them of provoking children and misleading youth. According to him, these groups attempted to shape narratives through manipulation rather than public welfare. He argued that several individuals enriched themselves through personal lobbying while distancing themselves from ground-level issues.

Prosecution of KTR becomes focal point in political exchange

The prosecution of KTR intensified political debate within Telangana. Bandi Sanjay said the Congress government could no longer avoid taking a clear stand. He asserted that the administration should act decisively if it believed its own claims about corruption. Moreover, he said the BJP would continue to highlight inconsistencies in the ruling party’s approach.

Sanjay added that the controversy surrounding the Formula E case reflected deeper governance issues. He claimed the ruling coalition relied on rhetoric while ignoring its responsibilities to the public. He concluded that political accountability required consistency, especially when leaders made strong statements about corruption.
