Hyderabad: Union Minister and BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday declared he would retire from politics if the Congress returned to power in Telangana. He launched a fierce attack on the ruling party, accusing it of cheating voters with false promises.
Speaking in Karimnagar, he hit back at TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud’s claim that BJP MPs won with fake votes. Sanjay said people were now ready to “stone Congress leaders” over the party’s six failed guarantees.
Bandi Sanjay political retirement comment targets Congress promises and leadership
He criticised the Congress for failing to provide ₹2,500 per month to women and for not increasing pensions as promised. He also questioned the status of 2 lakh government jobs, gold for brides, and scooters for women. “Where is Revanth Reddy now?” he asked.
Sanjay said that after 20 months in office, the Congress had not released even a rupee to gram panchayats. “They speak of fake votes, but they should first explain the seat theft in Jagityal,” he added.
Targeting Mahesh Goud, he mocked the TPCC chief as a “Ghazini character” for contradicting himself on his BC status. “This man couldn’t win as a ward member, yet he insults voters from eight Lok Sabha segments by calling them fake,” Sanjay said.
He alleged that some minority households in Karimnagar had over 200 votes. He also criticised Congress for favoring Muslims under the guise of BC reservations. “When we nominate a BC for Vice President, why does Congress try to block it?” he asked.
Sanjay also questioned how Congress managed to win in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh if vote theft was the issue. “If we won 8 MP seats through vote theft, why aren’t we ruling Telangana?” he asked.
BJP defends Hindu causes, slams Congress for ‘topi drama’
Reaffirming the BJP’s stance, Sanjay said his party would continue fighting for Sanatana Dharma, with or without elections. He accused Congress of staying silent when Hindu homes in Bhainsa were torched. “Our party stands for deities, yours begs to survive,” he said.
