HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has been inducted into the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Drafting Committee, announced by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary K.C. Venugopal on March 24.
The committee has been constituted in preparation for key AICC meetings scheduled to take place on April 8 and 9 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The Drafting Committee will play a crucial role in framing the Congress party’s future strategies, policies, and political resolutions. Bhatti Vikramarka’s inclusion is seen as a recognition of his political acumen, experience, and commitment to the party.
On April 8, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will convene, followed by the AICC delegates’ meeting on April 9. According to General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, the agenda will align with resolutions made during the “Nava Satyagraha” session held in Belagavi, Karnataka, in December last year. The Drafting Committee will be central in finalising the party’s political manifesto, structural reforms, and electoral strategies for upcoming polls.
Bhatti Vikramarka has long been a key leader within the Congress party. His extensive political experience and leadership skills were major factors in his appointment to the committee.
He played a pivotal role in the Congress party’s victory in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. His People’s March campaign energised the party’s cadre and helped expose the opposition during the campaign.
Additionally, Bhatti Vikramarka is credited with playing a significant role in the INDIA bloc’s success during the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections.
