HYDERABAD: BJP MP K Laxman has challenged Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to an open debate on the central funds allocated to Telangana. Speaking to the media on Sunday, he questioned how much financial assistance the UPA government had provided to undivided Andhra Pradesh, comparing it to the funds sanctioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for Telangana.
Laxman accused CM Revanth Reddy of being unable to tolerate BJP’s growing influence in the state. He also asserted that the BJP deserves full credit for the development of Warangal airport, dismissing any claims made by the state government regarding its role in the project.
Criticism of BRS and Congress
Further intensifying his remarks, Laxman criticized both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Congress, alleging that they are politically aligned. He accused them of spreading misinformation on the issue of delimitation, stating that both parties have a vested interest in misleading the public.
Upcoming BJP Leadership Announcement
On a national level, Laxman revealed that the BJP is expected to announce its new national president by the end of this month. His remarks come at a time when political tensions in Telangana are escalating, with all major parties strategizing ahead of upcoming electoral battles.
