Hyderabad: BJP MP Raghunandan Rao has been admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad, where he is receiving treatment in the orthopaedic ward, party sources confirmed on Friday.
Details of the ailment prompting his admission were not immediately available.
Representing the Medak parliamentary constituency, Rao is among those who have alleged phone tapping, with the Anti-Corruption Bureau recently issuing notices to affected persons for recording their statements.
Due to his hospitalisation, ACB officials are expected to visit the hospital to take his deposition.
On Thursday, the state government increased Rao’s security and arranged a police escort for his movements following recent death threats from Maoist elements.
