Hyderabad: A fast-track special court in LB Nagar sentenced a 29-year-old man to 20 years in prison in the Chaitanyapuri POCSO case. The verdict came on Friday in a case registered in 2020 under charges of rape, abduction, and offences under the POCSO Act.
The accused, Karne Dinesh alias Chinna, a private employee from Gottigaripally village in Sangareddy district, faced trial in Sessions Case No. 562/2021. The court convicted him under IPC Sections 376(2)(n), 366, Section 5(L) read with 6 of the POCSO Act, and Section 9 of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
Chaitanyapuri POCSO case verdict includes fine and compensation
The judge sentenced Dinesh to 20 years in prison and imposed a fine of ₹15,000. Additionally, the court awarded ₹5 lakh as compensation to the victim.
