Hyderabad: Chikkadpally police arrested two men for stealing gold from a retired employee’s residence in Vivek Nagar and presented them before the court for remand. Central Zone DCP Shilpavalli shared the case details during a press briefing.
The theft occurred on August 15 at the home of Narayana Shravan, a retired employee. The burglars made away with nearly 30 tolas of gold ornaments and cash. Based on Shravan’s complaint, crime police and task force teams analysed CCTV footage and tracked the suspects.

Police identified the accused as Bruce Lee from Hubli, Karnataka, currently living in Kompally, and Saikumar from Palvoncha in Khammam district. Bruce Lee had walked out of Charlapally Jail on August 13, just two days before the burglary, after securing bail in another theft case. He met Saikumar during his time in jail, and the two plotted the Vivek Nagar break-in shortly after his release.
Investigators discovered that Saikumar had previously helped Bruce Lee secure bail by arranging money. After committing the theft, Bruce Lee met Saikumar near Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Baglingampally and handed over a portion of the stolen jewellery to settle his debt. Their suspicious movements drew police attention, leading to their detention and eventual confessions.
Police recovered 25 tolas of gold and ₹25,000 in cash from the duo. Investigators found 67 previous cases against Bruce Lee and 63 against Saikumar. Both had earlier faced detention under the Preventive Detention Act.
DCP Shilpavalli commended the teams for solving the case within 48 hours. She urged residents to stay alert, secure their homes, and install CCTV systems for added protection.
