CM announces ₹1 crore ex-gratia, job and housing plot for constable Pramod’s family

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced ₹1 crore ex-gratia, a government job, and a 300-yard house plot for the family of CCS constable Pramod Kumar. The constable was stabbed to death on October 18 while escorting a rowdy sheeter in Nizamabad.

Revanth Reddy made the announcement during the Police Commemoration Day ceremony at the police martyrs memorial in Hyderabad. He said the state would stand by the bereaved family and offer full support. The constable’s salary will also be paid to the family until his notional retirement.

In addition, the government will grant ₹16 lakh from the Police Security Welfare Fund and ₹8 lakh from the Police Welfare Fund.

The Chief Minister praised Pramod Kumar’s courage and sacrifice in the line of duty. He said the Telangana police had built public trust by taking personal risks to ensure safety.

Revanth recalled a similar state initiative in 2008. At the time, 33 police officers who died fighting Maoists in Odisha received posthumous housing plot allocations in Gajularamaram.

He urged both citizens and the government to continue honouring fallen police personnel for their selfless service to the nation.
