Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced a ₹2,000 monthly stipend for students undergoing training at Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) across Telangana. The initiative aims to boost technical education and support skill development among youth.
The Chief Minister inaugurated upgraded ATC facilities at Mallepally and said the Congress government had already completed 65 such centres. An additional 51 ATCs have been sanctioned and will be operational within a year.

Revanth Reddy directed IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu to coordinate with Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for special budget allocations to support the stipend rollout. He also asked Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to ensure apprenticeship opportunities at TGSRTC for ATC-trained students.
Criticising the previous BRS regime, he accused it of neglecting ITIs by failing to upgrade courses or offer proper training. “We are now transforming ITIs into ATCs to provide world-class technical education,” he said.
Government targets global placement and ₹3 trillion economy
The Chief Minister revealed plans to set up a dedicated department to assist students trained abroad in securing jobs. He also announced partnerships with Japan to teach Japanese language and create overseas employment avenues.
“Skills matter more than certificates,” he said, adding that the government is identifying talented students for specialised training through the Young India Skills University.
Revanth Reddy urged students to avoid drug abuse and focus on building a strong future. “Education alone can change your destiny. Intelligence will take you far,” he stated.
He concluded by affirming his government’s commitment to turning Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047, with youth playing a central role.
