HYDERABAD: The lifeless body of Gurpreet Singh, who went missing in the (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) SLBC tunnel accident, was recovered today. Singh, a native of Punjab, was working as a tunnel boring machine (TBM) operator for the American firm Robinson Company.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy extended their heartfelt condolences. CM Revanth Reddy announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for Singh’s family and assured full support to them during this difficult time.
The deceased’s body has been sent to his native village in Punjab for final rites. The Telangana government has also extended its condolences to the bereaved family and acknowledged Singh’s contributions as a worker in the SLBC tunnel project.
