Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday felicitated archer Chikita, who recently became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the World Youth Archery Championship held in Canada.

Chikita, visiting India for the first time since her historic victory, met the Chief Minister at his residence in Jubilee Hills. She presented her medals to him during the courtesy call.
Reddy felicitated her with a shawl and and extended congratulations on behalf of the state government. He assured that the government would provide full support and advanced training to help her compete in the upcoming Olympics.
Telangana government promises support for athlete
MLC Bhanu Prasad, MLA Vijayaramana Rao, and Telangana Sports Authority chairman Shiva Sena Reddy were present at the meeting along with other officials. The Chief Minister said the state would back young sporting talent to help Telangana and India gain global recognition.
