CM Revanth Reddy expresses shock over Kurnool bus fire tragedy

Hyderabad: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy expressed deep shock over the horrific bus fire accident that occurred early Friday near Chinnatekur village in Kurnool district. A V Kaveri Travels bus travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire, killing more than 20 passengers, according to initial reports.

Revanth Reddy conveyed his condolences to the victims’ families and ordered immediate relief action. He spoke with Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and DGP Jithender to gather complete details about the incident. The Chief Minister directed Gadwal Collector and SP to reach the accident site without delay.

Officials said flames engulfed the bus around 3 a.m. on National Highway 44 near Chinnatekur village under Kallur mandal in Kurnool district. The bus had left Hyderabad with several passengers bound for Bengaluru. Authorities recovered 11 bodies from the wreckage. They said most victims belonged to Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy contacted Andhra Pradesh officials to coordinate rescue operations and identification work. He instructed them to establish a helpline immediately to provide updates and support to affected families.
