HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Raj Bhavan to extend Ugadi greetings and discuss the forthcoming cabinet expansion. Accompanying the Chief Minister were Minister Konda Surekha, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, and Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy.
Sources indicate that the Chief Minister sought the Governor’s approval for the cabinet expansion, which is anticipated to take place on April 3. Currently, six ministerial positions remain vacant in Revanth Reddy’s administration, with plans to fill four of these slots. This move has heightened expectations among aspirants, especially from the Madiga, Lambada, and Backward Classes (BC) communities, who have previously petitioned the party leadership for representation. Notable contenders for the ministerial roles include Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy, Chennur MLA Vivek Venkataswamy, Nizamabad’s Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, Aler MLA Bheerla Ayyalu, and Ibrahimpatnam MLA Mal Reddy. The party leadership is also considering allocating deputy speaker and chief whip positions to accommodate deserving candidates who may not secure ministerial roles.
