Hyderabad: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) again reduced commercial LPG cylinder prices, cutting ₹51.50 on a 19-kg cylinder. The revised rates took effect nationwide today.
Commercial LPG rates revised
With this cut, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi stands at ₹1,580. Officials explained that the change followed the routine monthly review of fuel prices.
Moreover, commercial LPG has seen three straight reductions in recent months—₹24 in June, ₹58.50 in July, and ₹33.50 in August. These steady declines, officials added, stem from global crude oil trends and shifting market dynamics.
Relief for businesses, no change in domestic price
For hotels, restaurants, and other businesses, the latest cut provides welcome relief. However, there is little cheer for households. The price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged, which leaves common and middle-class families disappointed.
PMUY subsidy extended for 2025–26
Separately, the Union Cabinet approved continuation of the ₹300 subsidy on domestic LPG cylinders for beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). The subsidy, valid for up to nine refills a year, will continue through 2025–26.
In addition, the Centre allocated ₹12,000 crore for the scheme. As of July 1, 2025, about 10.33 crore Ujjwala connections exist across the country.
