Hyderabad: Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar sharply criticised the arrest of BJP state president Ramchandra Rao, by police in Jubilee Hills when he attempted to attend a planned Kunkumarchana ritual organised by Hindu groups at the Pedamma temple. Sanjay said he reacted immediately despite being occupied with the ongoing Parliament session, questioning why Hindus should be prevented from visiting the temple. He called the incident evidence of what he described as a lawless administration in the state.
He alleged that the Congress government acted with a deliberate plan, branding the arrest of Hindu group leaders and BJP workers as “foolishness” while failing to detain those responsible for the demolition of the Pedamma temple. Sanjay accused the government of targeting peaceful worshippers for political gain in the Jubilee Hills bypoll, claiming it sought to influence a particular community’s votes.

The minister further charged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration was playing with Hindu sentiments. He asserted that state residents were closely watching the developments and predicted that the public would soon deliver a fitting response to the Congress government.
