Congress predicts victory in Jubilee Hills bypolls as Nizamuddin slams BRS

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin on Saturday predicted a clear Congress victory in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, claiming public support had shifted decisively against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He said voters were backing Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav after rejecting what he called BRS’s “propaganda politics.”

Shaikpet outreach shows shift in voter sentiment

Leading a door-to-door campaign in the Shaikpet division, Nizamuddin said the enthusiasm among residents reflected growing confidence in the Revanth Reddy-led government. “The Congress has delivered results in just 11 months — not mere promises,” he said.

He credited the Congress administration with prioritising public welfare and governance. Among the cited achievements were timely ration delivery and schemes benefiting farmers, women, unemployed youth, and religious minorities. “This government has proved its sincerity. BRS, in contrast, ignored local needs for a decade,” he said.

Nizamuddin accuses KTR of misleading Jubilee Hills voters

Nizamuddin alleged that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was misleading voters with “hollow claims” while campaigning for BRS nominee Maganti Sunitha. “KTR talks big to hide failures. People remember the waterlogging, broken roads, and neglected slums under BRS rule. Congress is fixing those issues step by step,” he said.

Framing the bypoll as a contest between “delivery and deception,” he stated, “Congress is a party that acts. BRS only talks. This bypoll will end the arrogance and neglect of BRS rule.”

Minority inclusion and education reforms highlighted

Nizamuddin also pointed to policy decisions under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, including the inclusion of Muslim professionals in government bodies and the planned increase in reservation for Muslims from 4 to 10 percent. He further highlighted steps to expand access to education. “These aren’t symbolic. They’re practical steps toward empowerment,” he said.

Misinformation flagged as Congress steps up vigilance

He cautioned voters to stay alert against misinformation being spread online. “BRS is circulating false content on social media to distract from its failures. We’ve already filed complaints with the Election Commission,” he said.

Naveen Yadav gains support across voter segments

Praising Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, Nizamuddin described him as a dynamic leader with strong local roots. “He represents inclusive and accountable leadership. Youth, women, and Muslim voters are rallying behind him,” he said.

He added that the bypoll verdict would reflect public approval of the Congress government’s governance model. “We’re not contesting for one seat, but for people’s trust. Jubilee Hills will affirm that trust,” he said.

He urged voters to turn out in large numbers on November 11. Counting will take place on November 14.
