Deputy CM calls Indira Solar Tribal scheme launch a historic day for Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka declared the launch of the Indira Solar Tribal Development Scheme as a historic moment for the state, calling it a milestone that would be etched in the nation’s history.

Speaking at a public gathering in Macharam village, Achampet constituency, he said the government’s current efforts were finally translating the long-standing slogan “land for the tiller” into legal reality. “Slogans like Jal, Jungle, Zameen must become enforceable policy,” he said, adding that Congress would need to remain in power for the next 20 years to ensure this transformation is completed.

Vikramarka paid emotional tribute to generations of Adivasis who bled and struggled in the forests without gaining any real benefit. He credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for launching the Nallamala Declaration to uplift tribal communities across the state.

“We are committed to implementing the declaration with sincerity over the next four years,” he said. Recalling past atrocities, he condemned the previous government’s actions where tribal women were tied to trees and beaten for farming forest lands, while men faced false criminal charges.

He warned that any criticism or conspiracy against the current government would be viewed as a betrayal of the people themselves.

Vikramarka also announced that ₹1,000 crore would be allocated under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam self-employment scheme for tribal youth on 2 June.

“This government belongs to the poor and to you,” he said. “Keep it close to your heart.”
