Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of deceiving Backward Classes and failing on key election promises. Speaking at a BJP OBC Morcha protest at Indira Park, Rajender said Revanth was “wasting time spinning lies.”
He questioned why local body elections, promised within six months of Congress taking power, were yet to be held. “BCs and other communities feel betrayed again. They fell for Revanth’s false promises,” he said.
On BC reservations, Rajender dismissed Revanth’s attempts to blame the Centre as theatrics. “Running to Delhi and playing drama doesn’t fool anyone. If you have the guts, come debate the facts,” he said, adding that only Tamil Nadu had constitutionally protected quotas under Schedule 9.
Rajender also slammed the Congress for never appointing a BC as Chief Minister and questioned why Revanth’s cabinet had failed to enforce 42% BC quota. “BC ministers were handed token portfolios. Why not Revenue or Urban Development?” he asked.
Citing unmet guarantees, Rajender said farmers lacked MSP, youth remained unemployed, and students faced withheld certificates due to unpaid fee reimbursements. “Parents are forced to borrow money to pay college fees,” he said, demanding immediate clearance of student dues.
He ridiculed Revanth for outsourcing caste census figures to the Statistics Department after announcing the Boosani Venkateshwar Rao Commission. “Where’s the legality in that? Who are you trying to fool?” he asked.
“Every BC household has someone with a PG or PhD. Revanth should stop assuming we can be misled,” Rajender said. “If Congress fails again, BC youth will rise.”
