Hyderabad: Excise officials in Bichkunda booked a farmer from Hangarga village in Jukkal mandal for Ganja Cultivation as an inter-crop in his agricultural field.
CI Satyanarayana of Bichkunda Excise stated that the raid was conducted following a tip-off. Police and revenue officials reached the fields and confirmed that farmer Veeresh grew 147 ganja plants between red gram and soybean crops.
Farmer booked for ganja cultivation in Nizamabad district
Satyanarayana, along with Jukkal Tahsildar Maruti and Revenue Inspector Ram Patel, inspected the field during the raid. Officials took Veeresh into custody and began questioning him.
Excise officers said they registered a criminal case against him. They warned that farmers who cultivate ganja illegally will face strict legal action. Tahsildar Maruti, revenue inspector Ram Patel, and excise staff joined the operation.
