HYDERABAD, February 7: In a concerning incident, a four-year-old girl named Chepuri Srimedha from Kanagarthi village in Konaraopet Mandal, Rajanna Sircilla district, has been diagnosed with a Brucella infection, a bacterium commonly found in dogs. The child initially presented with fever and allergy symptoms and was taken to a private hospital in Sircilla.
After initial tests failed to identify the cause, she was referred to a private hospital in Hyderabad. There, medical examinations revealed the presence of the “Brucella atypical” virus, which is typically associated with canines. Doctors suspect that the child contracted the infection through contact with infected dogs. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact mode of transmission. In light of this case, health experts advise parents to keep children away from stray dogs and to monitor for any unusual symptoms.
The community is urged to exercise caution and seek prompt medical attention if similar symptoms arise.
