HYDERABAD, January 30, 2025: Former Minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao has strongly condemned the illegal arrests of BRS corporators, accusing the Congress government of undemocratic actions. He questioned whether asking for funds for the development of Hyderabad would lead to arrests, criticising the Congress government for its actions.

Rao also raised concerns about the treatment of Hyderabad, which he described as the heart of the state, alleging that the Congress government is neglecting the city. He criticised the actions of the police, who forcibly removed the corporators from the Budget Council using marshals, and labelled such behaviour as undemocratic. He further stated that passing the budget without any debate was a clear sign of authoritarianism. Harish Rao emphasised that any attempts to silence elected representatives who speak on behalf of the people would not be tolerated. He demanded the immediate release of the detained corporators.
