HYDERABAD, February 12: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has criticised the Congress government for failing to pay salaries to home guards, calling it a matter of shame. He alleged that since the Congress came to power, home guards have been struggling due to salary delays.
Rao questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on the continued delay, stating that cutting funds from welfare schemes while neglecting employee payments was not governance but anti-people administration. He demanded the immediate disbursement of salaries, urging the government to prioritise the welfare of home guards who serve the public despite financial hardships.
The home guards, a crucial support force for law enforcement, have reportedly been waiting for their salaries for months. Opposition leaders have warned of further protests if the issue remains unresolved.
