Hyderabad: Former minister Harish Rao met former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his Erravelli farmhouse in Siddipet district, amid rising heat over the Kaleshwaram probe.
The meeting comes hours after Justice P.C. Ghose Commission issued notices to KCR, Harish Rao, and Etela Rajender in connection with the construction of barrages under the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project. The Commission, led by the retired Supreme Court judge, has summoned KCR on June 5, Harish Rao on June 6, and Etela Rajender on June 9.
The probe zeroes in on the Medigadda barrage parts of which have sunk alongside the Annaram and Sundilla barrages. This Commission’s digging into everything design flaws, build quality, money trail, and who signed off.
Harish Rao ran irrigation back then, Etela handled finance. Both are now on the list. Along with them—engineers, accounts heads, even the builders.
What triggered all this? Cracks at Medigadda. Parts of the barrage gave way. Set off alarm bells. Now the project’s under the microscope.
