Hyderabad: BRS MLA and former minister T. Harish Rao on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress government after hundreds of contractors staged a surprise protest at the Secretariat demanding immediate clearance of pending bills. The protest targeted offices of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and Finance Secretary Sandeep Sultania.
Harish Rao alleged that the Congress regime lacks both vision and direction. He claimed the administration is solely focused on collecting commissions instead of delivering governance. “This might be the first time in the country that contractors had to protest twice within two years over unpaid bills,” he said.
He recalled an earlier protest where contractors accused the Finance Department of withholding payments due to unpaid commissions. “Today, they gathered again in front of the Finance Department on the second floor of the Secretariat. What clearer proof is needed?” he asked.
He accused the government of ignoring seniority while disbursing payments and claimed that bribes were being demanded. “Is this a Congress government or a scamgress government?” he said, attacking the ruling party.
He warned that the public would rise in protest if the current attitude of the government continues. “This government has no mission, no vision only one goal: commissions,” Harish Rao said.
