Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr. Sravan Dasoju on Wednesday demanded immediate cancellation of the Telangana Group-1 Mains Examination, citing the Telangana High Court’s scathing verdict. The Court exposed serious procedural violations by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC).
In its 220-page judgment dated September 9, the High Court ruled that the Commission acted with bias, lacked transparency, and violated its own rules. Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao delivered the order in W.P. No.11439/2025 and related petitions. The Court held the Commission directly accountable for procedural lapses and faulty evaluation methods.
Dr. Dasoju squarely blamed the Congress government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He called it a betrayal of Telangana’s unemployed youth. “These are not my words, these are the words of the Hon’ble High Court,” he said, describing the verdict as a “charge sheet” against the administration.
High Court exposes lapses in TGPSC Group-1 exam
Referring to specific observations in the judgment, Dr. Dasoju said the Commission’s negligence had severely affected aspirants. Moreover, he pointed out that the TGPSC failed to correct its mistakes despite two prior exam cancellations.
He underlined the scale of student sacrifice. Thousands had quit jobs, paid for coaching, and prepared for long hours. Instead of opportunity, they faced what he termed “negligence, inefficiency, and betrayal.”
BRS terms GO 29 discriminatory
Additionally, Dr. Dasoju demanded immediate withdrawal of Government Order (GO) 29. He called it unconstitutional and discriminatory toward SC, ST, and BC candidates. In his words, the order was a “black law” that attacked the rights of marginalised groups.
He further warned that the government might use review petitions and high-priced legal teams to delay justice. “Every step taken against the judgment will be remembered as an attack on Telangana’s youth,” he said.
BRS issues three demands
On behalf of the BRS, Dr. Dasoju placed three clear demands:
- Cancel the Group-1 Mains Examination in line with the High Court ruling.
- Repeal GO 29 without delay.
- Withdraw all police cases filed against protesting students.
He ended with an appeal to the Chief Minister. “Have humanity, accept your mistakes, and cancel this fraudulent exam,” he urged. He reminded the government that Telangana was born from student sacrifice not betrayal.
