Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Thursday said the Congress government aims to make Hyderabad a global hub for design and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Speaking at the 21st International Conference on User Experience and Product Design (UX India 25), hosted by the UMO Foundation in Hitech City, Bhatti said design must go beyond aesthetics and function as a tool for social change.
He urged global delegates to share insights with the state government. He added that inclusive digital policies like TS-iPASS were driving rapid innovation across Telangana. Referring to UPI as an example, he said user-friendly design especially in regional languages is vital for digital inclusion.
At the same event, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu announced that the state will soon set up a Centre of Excellence in Design. This initiative aims to position Hyderabad as a global leader in design-driven innovation.
He said platforms like T-Hub, T-Works, and WE Hub continue to strengthen the state’s innovation ecosystem. Sridhar Babu also emphasized that design will play a key role in Telangana’s upcoming AI Innovation Hub.
