Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) reclaimed 16,000 square yards of public land in Jubilee Enclave, Madhapur, by demolishing unauthorized buildings and clearing illegal occupations on Thursday. Officials valued the recovered land at nearly ₹400 crore.
The operation removed two encroached parks covering 8,500 square yards, 5,000 square yards of occupied road, and a 300-yard government plot that housed an illegal hotel. The enclave layout, approved in 1995, included 22.20 acres with around 100 plots and four parks. Two parks had been occupied.
Commissioner A.V. Ranganath led the drive, with ACP Srikanth and Inspectors Rajasekhar and Balagopal supervising. Demolition teams cleared the area, fenced off the land, and put up boards marking it as government property. Police filed cases against the encroachers.
HYDRAA acted on complaints from the Prajavani platform. One man, Jaihind Reddy, allegedly built the hotel and earned money through rent and advertising. Despite earlier notices from GHMC, he refused to vacate the property.
Residents and local leaders praised the swift response. They said the move helped restore open space in a high-density IT zone and applauded both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Commissioner Ranganath for cracking down on encroachment.
