HYDERABAD: Acting on orders from senior officials, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Hyderabad, and the Mandal Revenue Officer, Nampally Mandal, raided an illegal sand storage site at Jummerat Bazar near HP Petrol Pump, Puranapul. They seized 60 tons of sand worth ₹1.2 lakh and arrested one person.
Police identified the accused as K. Santhosh Singh (37), a resident of Lower Dhoolpet. He allegedly stored and sold sand without permits or waybills from mining authorities. Officials said he intended to deliver the sand to other districts but instead dumped and sold it illegally in Hyderabad at inflated prices.
Authorities urged the public to report illegal sand trading by calling Dial-100. Inspector S. Bala Swamy led the raid with Sub-Inspectors, task force staff, and the Mandal Revenue Officer.
