Hyderabad: Election authorities confirmed that the Jubilee Hills counting arrangements for the bypoll reached completion after they secured the EVMs in the strong room on Tuesday. EC outlines Jubilee Hills counting arrangements
The returning officer said the constituency had 407 polling stations and required 42 counting tables. Additionally, the schedule included 10 rounds to declare the full results. Each table would host three officials throughout the process. Furthermore, officers planned to bring the EVMs from the strong room in the presence of candidates and their agents before starting the count.
The EC reported that no postal ballots arrived until Wednesday evening. Therefore, officials decided to begin with home-voting ballots. They received 103 applications for home voting, and 101 voters cast their ballots, while two applicants died before polling day. After the home-voting count, staff would take up the EVMs beginning with the Shaikpet division. Eventually, the final round would cover the Erragadda division.
Authorities reviewed security at the counting centre and introduced measures to prevent disturbances. In addition, officers planned to upload the results of each round on the EC website without delay. They explained that this step ensured transparency and allowed parties to track the round-wise progress in real time.
Election officials also released the voter statistics for the Jubilee Hills segment. The constituency recorded a total of 4,01,365 electors, including 2,08,561 men, 1,92,779 women, and 25 others. A total of 1,94,631 voters exercised their franchise. Among them, 99,771 were men, 94,855 were women, and five belonged to the other category. Ultimately, the constituency registered a turnout of 48.49 per cent.
