Hyderabad: The state government has granted another extension to the Justice PC Ghose Commission, set up to probe alleged irregularities in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project. The commission now has until 21 July to submit its final report.
Official orders were issued confirming the extension. The inquiry, initiated by the Congress government, is examining allegations of mismanagement during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi regime, particularly in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and its key components Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages.
Justice PC Ghose, a retired judge, heads the commission. Over recent months, the panel has summoned engineers, contractors, and other personnel linked to the project. It has conducted in-depth examinations, including cross-examinations of senior officials from the irrigation department Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineer, and others.
Sources said the commission now plans to summon former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and the then Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao to seek further details on project execution and decisions taken during their tenure.
