Two children drowned in a water pond in Rameshwarpalli, Kamareddy, on Tuesday while playing on a bicycle.
KAMAREDDY: A tragic incident occurred in Kamareddy town on Tuesday when two children accidentally fell into a water pond in Rameshwarpalli and drowned.
According to Devunipalli Sub-Inspector Raju, the victims were identified as Shiva (10), son of Jagannatham Nagaraju from Indiranagar Colony, and Santosh (8), elder son of Kumbha Nagendra Babu from Green City Colony. The children were riding a bicycle and went towards the pond to catch fish when the accident happened.
While playing near the pond, they reportedly lost balance and slipped into the water, leading to their drowning. Upon receiving information from local residents, police reached the spot and retrieved the bodies. Family members were devastated upon seeing the children’s remains. The bodies were later sent to the Kamareddy District Government Hospital for post-mortem examination, as confirmed by the SI. A case has been registered based on the family’s complaint, and an investigation is underway.
Jagannatham Nagaraju, the father of Shiva, works as a daily wage labourer and lives with his wife, two daughters, and two sons. Similarly, Kumbha Nagendra Babu, the father of Santosh, also works as a labourer and supports his wife, daughter, and two sons. The sudden demise of Shiva and Santosh has plunged both families into deep grief. The entire neighbourhood is mourning the loss of the two young boys.
