Kavitha blames BRS for losing Tummala, slams Congress and demands speedy completion of Sitarama project

Hyderabad: BRS MLC and Jagruti president K. Kavitha on Tuesday strongly criticised both the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS for failing Telangana. She said the BRS lost power largely because it sidelined senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao.

Speaking at a public event in Khammam district, Kavitha said Tummala’s departure had a serious impact. “Letting go of Tummala was a complete mistake,” she said, blaming the party for internal neglect that weakened its base.

Kavitha calls Congress a BC betrayer, questions Revanth’s silence

Targeting the Congress government, Kavitha accused it of breaking promises and betraying Backward Classes. “Revanth Reddy has deceived BCs without hesitation,” she said. She called the Congress’ BC protests in Delhi a sham.

She also demanded that the Chief Minister enforce constitutional reservations for BCs. Reflecting on her time in BRS, she said she lacked basic influence. “I couldn’t even get a teacher transferred. Jagruti workers received no recognition,” she said.

Kavitha vowed to fight for social justice and equitable access to power. She reaffirmed her support for 250-yard plots for Telangana movement activists.

Sitarama delay, Singareni protest and cotton prices top agenda

Kavitha urged the state to fast-track the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project. She stressed the need to stabilize ayacut areas in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mahabubabad districts. “Farmers are still waiting for water,” she said.

She criticised BJP and Congress MPs for staying silent on farmer issues. She demanded that the Cotton Corporation of India buy cotton at MSP. “Neither the Centre nor the state has helped farmers,” she said.

She also announced that Singareni workers would protest at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday over unresolved labour concerns.

Demands for Khammam growth, temple development and justice in murder case

Kavitha asked Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka to prioritise development of the Jamalapuram Temple. While praising past leaders like J. Vengal Rao and Tummala for developing Khammam, she said the district still lags behind.

She also called for action in the murder of Saamineni Rama Rao in Patharlapadu. “Murder politics have no place in a democracy,” she said, adding that she would meet the DGP to demand accountability.
