Kavitha slams KTR, Harish Rao; says BRS limited to social media

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, including her brother K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, during a public meeting in Medak.

Kavitha blames BRS defeat on social media obsession

As part of the “Jagruti Janam Bata” campaign, Kavitha alleged that BRS had turned into a social media outfit. She said this disconnect from the people led to the party’s loss in the Jubilee Hills by-election. “KTR should come out of social media and meet the people,” she said. Kavitha added that thousands of BRS workers had already joined Telangana Jagruti.

Jagruti to be main opposition, says Kavitha

Kavitha accused BRS leaders of focusing on personal wealth instead of building their cadre. She said Telangana Jagruti would take on the role of the main opposition in the state. She added that the movement draws its strength from former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

RRR alignment, hostel scam allegations

Kavitha accused the previous BRS government of changing the Regional Ring Road (RRR) alignment to benefit Harish Rao, Gangula Kamalakar, and Naveen Rao. She also alleged that former MLA Madan Reddy was collecting ₹1.5 lakh per month by misusing a Kaudipalli ST boys’ hostel. Kavitha urged the Congress government to shift the hostel without delay.

Farmers must get ₹1 crore per acre, says Jagruti chief

Demanding justice for farmers affected by the RRR project, Kavitha called for ₹1 crore per acre as compensation. If that is not possible, the government must offer land-for-land compensation, she said.

Local leaders failed cadre, says Kavitha

She accused former Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy of neglecting party workers in the region. Kavitha also claimed that the Kaleshwaram project had failed to deliver water to 1.5 lakh acres in Medak. She said the district had remained ignored even after 12 years of Telangana’s formation.

Kavitha alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had ties with benamis of Harish Rao. She also accused the Congress government of irregularities in Group-I recruitment. Telangana Jagruti, she said, would continue to act as a questioning force in the state.
