Hyderabad: BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday instructed party leaders to ensure a strong victory for Maganti Sunitha Gopinath in the Jubilee Hills by-election. He said voters had already made up their minds in her favour.
At a preparatory meeting in Erravelli, KCR asked party workers to expose what he called the “corrupt and deceptive” rule of the Congress. He accused the party of harming the state’s stability and risking public order in Hyderabad. He criticised the Congress for fielding a candidate from a “rowdy-sheeter family.”
KCR expressed faith in the wisdom of Jubilee Hills voters. He said they would reject the Congress nominee and protect both the honour of their constituency and the peace of the city.
The meeting was attended by party working president K.T. Rama Rao and senior leaders. Former ministers T. Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, V. Srinivas Goud, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, C. Laxma Reddy, V. Prashanth Reddy, Ch. Malla Reddy, and E. Dayakar Rao were present.
Local in-charges from all divisions and clusters of Jubilee Hills also took part. The group included former MLAs, MLCs, corporators, chairpersons, and senior party leaders.
Campaign in-charges submitted reports on field-level efforts. In response, KCR laid out a strategy to win with a big margin. He asked leaders to explain how Congress rule had caused economic and development setbacks. He told them to compare it with the BRS government’s ten-year record.
KCR instructed workers to go door to door. He said they should explain why key welfare programmes had stopped under Congress. He urged them to remind voters of the benefits they had received under BRS rule.
