Hyderabad: Union Minister and BJP Telangana president G Kishan Reddy on Friday demanded a departmental inquiry into forest minister Konda Surekha’s alleged statement that ministers were accepting money for clearing official files.
Speaking to reporters, Kishan Reddy said the Chief Minister must immediately act on the issue by ordering a thorough investigation. He added that all details should be made public.
Calling the remark “extremely sensitive,” he said it couldn’t be brushed aside. “This needs to be probed seriously,” he said, referring to Surekha’s comments.
Earlier in the day, Kishan Reddy also urged party workers, elected representatives, and the general public to participate in large numbers in the Tiranga Yatra scheduled for Saturday, 17 May. He clarified the event wasn’t political but meant to show support for the Indian Armed Forces following the Sindoor Operation in Pakistan.
The yatra will begin at the Ambedkar statue on Necklace Road and proceed to Hussain Sagar. BJP flags, posters, and banners will not be part of the event, he said.
