K. T. Rama Rao says BRS will make a comeback like a storm

HYDERABAD: BRS Working President and former minister K. T. Rama Rao said that his party will make a comeback in the upcoming elections, claiming that the BRS will return to power like a storm.

Addressing party leaders and workers from Greater Hyderabad at Telangana Bhavan during preparations for the BRS Rajat Utsav Mahasabha, KTR accused the Congress of deceiving the people. He asserted that if elections were held today, it would be the BRS that would reclaim power.

KTR criticised the two Union Ministers from Telangana, calling one a “supporting minister” and the other “powerless”, and claimed they have provided no benefit to the state. He reminded the gathering that over the past ten years, including GHMC elections and assembly segments in Greater Hyderabad, the BRS has consistently achieved complete success. He said that the people of Hyderabad will not fall for the theatrics of either the BJP or Congress.

He accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of causing destruction in the city under the pretext of “HYDRAA”, alleging that demolition drives are being conducted on weekends when courts are not accessible to the public. This, he claimed, has negatively impacted Hyderabad’s real estate sector. He also alleged that projects under the Musi river beautification initiative were being designed merely to appease Delhi.

KTR warned that the government has its eyes on HCU lands, but student protests, supported by BRS, had managed to resist such moves. He said that it was by the prayers of the people that K. Chandrashekar Rao served as Chief Minister for ten years, and he would once again assume the post in the future.

He further pointed out that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have been named in the Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet in the National Herald case, yet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has remained silent against the BJP. He claimed this exposed the “brotherly bond” between the two parties.

On the issue of the upcoming MLC elections, KTR announced that BRS would boycott the poll and a whip would be issued to the party’s councilors. He warned that any defiance of the whip or participation in the voting process would lead to disciplinary action.
