KTR slams Centre over silence on Revanth govt corruption claims

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday accused the BJP-led Centre of shielding the Congress government in Telangana despite levelling corruption charges against it. He demanded to know why Union Home Minister Amit Shah has not ordered an investigation into the allegations.

Referring to earlier comments by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of running an “RR tax” scheme, KTR asked why there has been no follow-up through agencies like the CBI or Enforcement Directorate.

In a statement, KTR said BJP leaders in Delhi have openly alleged that the Telangana Congress government is functioning like an ATM for the party high command, yet no action has followed. He said the people of Telangana deserve to know what is stopping the Centre from initiating a probe.

He also accused the BJP of hypocrisy, pointing to what he called the party’s “dual politics”—publicly opposing Congress at the national level while allegedly cooperating with it in Telangana. He said this raised questions about the BJP’s sincerity and claimed Revanth Reddy was benefiting from an informal understanding with BJP.

KTR further criticised the Centre for failing to allocate any funds for the Turmeric Board in this year’s Union Budget, calling it a token gesture with no financial backing.
