Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday accused the Congress government of stalling the Kothwalguda Eco Park, blaming Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration for neglect and poor governance.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), KTR said the 125-acre project, located along the Himayat Sagar lakefront, had been nearly completed during the BRS government’s tenure almost two years ago. However, it remains unopened.
KTR slams Congress government for delaying Kothwalguda Eco Park project
“A world-class park designed for the people of Hyderabad is left in uncertainty due to the government’s ineptitude. The Congress regime is marked by incompetence and indifference,” he wrote, calling it “hopeless governance.”
The eco park was planned as a major urban attraction, featuring India’s largest aviary, an aquarium, boardwalks, landscaped gardens, and weekend camping facilities. Initiated in October 2022, the project saw steady progress under the BRS.
KTR alleged that work slowed after Congress took office and has now stopped completely due to a lack of administrative support. He said he raised the issue 13 months ago but the government failed to act. “An ineffective government leads to poor governance,” he said.
13 months ago, I had flagged the slow pace of Kothwalguda Eco Park works.
BRS Govt had already completed majority works of this project about two years ago, yet even today it remains unopened.
Revanth Reddy Govt is only obsessed with politics & propaganda, not public service.… https://t.co/z89kORARb1
