KTR slams Revanth Reddy, says Congress failed to build a single house

Hyderabad: BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Monday accused the Congress government of failing to build a single house since coming to power. He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration has only made the lives of the people with low-income more difficult.

KTR made these remarks while celebrating Diwali with families affected by the HYDRAA demolitions in Sunnam Cheruvu. He joined children from the displaced families in bursting firecrackers and later addressed the gathering.

Lashing out at the Congress government, KTR said bulldozers were sent into poor neighbourhoods under the guise of HYDRAA projects. “People with house documents were not spared. Even school children weren’t allowed to pick up their books before their homes were torn down,” he said.

He compared the displaced to “birds left without a nest” and called the evictions brutal and inhumane. KTR demanded that the government distribute the 40,000 remaining double-bedroom homes built under KCR’s tenure to those who lost houses in the demolitions.

“Congress must compensate or face public backlash”

KTR warned that if the Congress fails to compensate the victims, the BRS will intensify its agitation. “The BRS stands firmly with the people with low-income. If the government doesn’t act, we will,” he assured.

He criticised Revanth Reddy for making empty promises. “This government hasn’t laid a single brick. Hyderabad’s poor have been abandoned,” he said. KTR also pointed out that free water supply has been disrupted in several localities.

BRS will return in two years, says KTR

Asserting that the BRS will return to power in the next election, KTR told Sunnam Cheruvu residents not to fear. “We have names, addresses, and phone numbers of every family affected by HYDRAA. Justice will be served,” he said.

Calling the Congress a “Narakasura regime,” KTR said the real Diwali will be celebrated only after its fall. He vowed to continue fighting for justice until every displaced family is protected.

Former ministers Jagadish Reddy and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, MLC Shambhipur Raju, and local BRS leaders also attended the event.
