HYDERABAD: A man from Yapal in Mandamarri town, Mancherial district, was booked under the POCSO Act on Wednesday for allegedly misbehaving with his 15-year-old daughter.
According to Mandamarri Town Sub-Inspector Rajasekhar, the accused, Akudari Satish, works as an auto driver and frequently argued with his wife, claiming that their elder daughter was not his biological child.
On Tuesday afternoon, citing the Pochamma Bonalu festival, Satish brought his daughter home from her hostel. Later that night, under the influence of alcohol, he allegedly behaved inappropriately with her.
When his wife tried to intervene, he assaulted her with a stick. Following a complaint by the wife, police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, arrested Satish, and sent him to judicial remand.
The girl has been referred to the Bharosa Centre for counselling, the Sub-Inspector confirmed.
